The last few days I have been challenged with what salvation is. If anyone would know it would be Jesus, right?

John 16:24-26 says if I want to follow Jesus, I must deny myself, take up my cross daily and follow Him. Tonight I realized I have not really denied myself. If I really died and took on the life of Christ, things should look a lot different.

One big thing that came to mind was time on the computer, largely because of the idle hours of my life that Facebook has been sucking away. Facebook can be good for a lot of things. A lot of things I would excuse myself for, then hours later wonder where my time would go. Whenever I hear about someone that drops facebook for a while or doesn’t have it, deep down I really respect it. I may even tease them but only so I don’t feel bad about my addiction (took a while to really call it that). Though some communication may be a bit more difficult, (heaven forbid I resort to email 😉

I am going to indefinitely stop using Facebook.

I am not deleting my account or anything, but will not log on and will probably give my password to someone. Honestly, it is embarrassing to say something like this, but hey, killing the flesh means fullness in the Spirit.

So anyway, I just wanted to share this and I hope it encourages you to put to death whatever things are hanging on to you.

I always respected people that dropped Facebook.  I should do what I respect in people instead of just appreciate it.
